April Vacation Event Schedule

APRIL VACATION is right around the corner. Have you ever wondered what is happening at the library? Well, today is your lucky day because here is our event schedule:

Monday – Internet Trivia Contest from 2:00-8:00. Everyone earning 12 points or more will be entered in a drawing for a pizza coupon.
Winner to be announced on our blog, newportteentalk.blogspot.com, Tuesday, April 15. Trivia forms can be picked up and dropped off at the YA desk.

Tuesday – Board games in YA throughout the day.

Wednesday – Karaoke with snacks. 4:30-6:30 in the library program room.

Thursday – Board games in YA throughout the day.

Friday – Make Your Own Sundaes. 3:00-4:00 in the Stride Room.

Raffle drawing at 4:00 for students who have read 2 or more books over vacation – yes teacher assigned books count. Book forms can be picked up and dropped off at the YA and Reference desks. Winner of a $5.00 Gift Certificate to Cold Stone Creamery to be announced on our blog, newportteentalk.blogspot.com no later than Monday, April 21.

Wednesday Club, April 2

WEDNESDAY CLUB THIS WEEK will be food critics corner. Newport is supposed to have some of the best restaurants around. We’ll order a smattering of appetizers and desserts from area restaurateurs and you get to choose your favorite. You will be meeting in the Program Room (downstairs) from 3:30-4:30.

Wednesday Club, March 26

WEDNESDAY CLUB THIS WEEK will be very busy. First y’all will be making Sundaes – YEAH! Then you will vote on food selections for next week. Finally you’ll wrap up with manicures for the ladies and board games for the gentlemen. You will be meeting in the Children’s Program Room (upstairs) from 3:30-4:30.

College 101

A group of five Bryant University students will hold a “College 101” program that helps sophomores, juniors, and seniors from the area high schools prepare for their individual college searchs. Topics to be covered include choosing the right school, what to major in, how to pay for college, writing an awesome admissions essay, and much more. With combined experience from looking at over fifty schools, these students have a lot to offer college bound teens. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 8th from 6:30-7:30 at the Greenville Public Library.

WEDNESDAY CLUB THIS WEEK we’ll be dying and decorating Easter eggs. All supplies, including eggs, will be provided. We’ll be meeting upstairs in the children's program room from 3:30-4:30.
As always, snacks and drinks will be provided. See any librarian for directions if you are unsure where to find us.

WEDNESDAY CLUB THIS WEEK will be singing Karaoke and competing in Dance Dance Revolution. Prizes will be given for the best performances so bring your dancin' shoes. Meet us downstairs in the program room from 3:30-4:30.
You may also bring your own PS2 games to play on our console.
